Billy (Now Benny)

Partner rescue and re-home organization: Golden Bond Rescue of Oregon (GBR)

Billy is a dog meat trade survivor from China. He was adopted on May 27, 2016. Hear about his new life in America from his adoptive family.

Hi!  I’m Billy from China. I’m only about 1 year old.  I feel so very, very fortunate to have been rescued from the meat market in China.  My foster mom says I am “gentle, patient and loving.”  I have a small frame and weigh a mere 45 – 55 pounds.

I get along well with other dogs and with cats.  I share food, toys, leash walks and companionship with the two dogs in my foster home.  I also get along well with my foster’s cat, though we don’t share much.  I’m also good with children of all ages because I’m so “gentle and patient.”

My foster mom asked me to pass along that I will be a wonderful addition to any family.  Could my family be yours?  If so, I think we will be be very happy together.

Oh, and if you’re wondering about my weird hairdo – it was cut off in China before coming to the USA to get rid of mats and to help me make the airline weight limit. Don’t worry, it’ll grow back and I’ll look just like a golden retriever.
